A view a top the small mountain at the Desert Studies Center aka Zzyzx, CA aka Soda Springs.
You can get a clear view of the dried up lake there. The Mohave river used to flow into it.
While out with Jason on our lizard finding quests, we came across a rarer to find specimen. We kept him to take pictures of the next day, but the skin darkened to a point where it was not really photographable. The air temperature was too low in house for it, so we released it onto a sunny rock. It was quite happy to have some heat again. Lovely specimen.
